Keeping Up With French Bulldog Temperaments

French Bulldogs stemmed from England as small or petite English Bulldogs. They look very similar with English bulldogs but are remarkably smaller. These toy bulldogs have strong muzzles and noses similar to a Pug’s nose. They are generally pear-shaped with shoulders broader than their backs. They have rounded foreheads and square heads that are practically bigger looking than their bodies. French bulldogs have soft short hair that comes in an array of colors such as fawn, brindle, white or a combination of any of the three. They also have large dark eyes. Concerning height, they are usually twelve inches and weight between nineteen to twenty-eight pounds.

Every breed of dog has it owns distinct characteristics. When it comes to the French bulldog, its owners can only say one thing about it – that they are total clowns! These dogs are extremely clownish not just because of their looks but also due to their loving and playful attitudes. A French bulldog is a breed that has the sweetest personality among the many canine breeds. They are well known as easygoing animals that can adjust with different kinds of social environment. Generally, French bulldogs have excellent temperaments.

French bulldogs are social creatures. They are great with dealing with other people besides their masters. However, they always have the tendency to choose their favorite person. French bulldogs usually share an incomparable bond to its owner or main carer. They devote and thrive on their master’s attention and are absolutely devoted to them. Their ability to be attached with significant persons make them not do well when left alone for long periods of time. They are the kind of dogs that have to be given proper attention because they have the possibility to die with boredom or loneliness. This is the very reason why French bulldogs are called companion dogs because they need constant companions.

Another surprising characteristic about the French bulldog is that it does have a mind of its own. Although they are adorable and sweet they can sometimes be very stubborn. When it comes to training them, owners have to use strong and firm voices. Dog trainers and owners have to be pushy yet patient when it comes to training French bulldogs. If forces such as hitting or jerking are used against them, they will not respond and will sometimes become emotionless about the gesture.

Although French bulldogs appear cute, adorable, and sweet, they do not go well with children. Their temperaments with children are not so good. They can feel intimidated when around small kids because they feel that they are a competition. This is why they should not be left alone with children. French bulldogs attract children because of their cute physiques. Children even love chasing them around. However, their energetic vibe should not be taken advantaged because they easily get tired. Sometimes these little dogs just don’t know when enough is enough especially when they are carried away of their enthusiasm. French bulldogs are definitely attention-grabbing dogs.
